Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for: on
- Assisting trainers in preparing practical lessons and demonstrations in Fashion Design and Garment Making.
- Preparing workshops, tools, equipment and materials for practical training.
- Assisting trainees during practical training sessions.il
- Supporting trainers during practical demonstrations and assessments.
- Maintaining and safeguarding workshop tools, equipment and materials.
- Ensuring that sewing machines and other workshop equipment are properly maintained and safely used.
- Assisting in the preparation and organization of practical training materials.
- Maintaining inventories and records oftools, equipment and consumable materials.
- Reporting damaged, defective or missing tools and equipment to the appropriate authority.
- Ensuring cleanliness, safety and proper organization of the workshop.
- Supporting compliance with Occupational Safety and Health requirements in the workshop.
- Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- Artisan certificate in Fashion Design and Garment Making, Fashion Design, Clothing Technology or a related field from a recognized institution;
- Demonstrable practical skills in garment construction, sewing and related fashion and garment-making processes;
- Ability to operate and maintain relevant workshop tools and equipment;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Basic computer literacy; and
- Ability to work effectively with trainers and trainees.
- Relevant practical/work experience in a TVET institution, garment production, fashion
- design or related environment will be an added advantage.
