About this role
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test medical equipment and devices, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards.
- Modify and customize existing medical equipment to improve functionality and efficiency.
- Install, calibrate, and maintain medical equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Provide technical support and training to healthcare personnel on the use and maintenance of medical equipment.
- Conduct research and collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify and address equipment-related problems.
- Evaluate new technologies and equipment for potential integration into healthcare facilities.
- Develop and implement quality assurance procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Manage and document equipment inventory, including maintenance schedules and service records.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and technicians, to optimize equipment utilization and patient care.
- Stay informed about advancements in biomedical engineering and healthcare technology through continuous learning and professional development.
- Perform any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements
- Bachelors of biomedical engineering, or related field from a recognized institution.
- AMEK – Association of Medical Engineers.
- Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a biomedical field or related field.
