Job Description
- Carrying out basic survey field assignments-mapping and establishing survey controls
- Undertaking small and medium area cadastral, topographical surveys, sub-divisional schemes, site and general engineering surveys
- Undertaking preliminary quality control of cadastral and general boundary surveys
- Searching for and compiling of required survey data information from relevant government institution
- Carrying out field observations using various survey equipment e.g. automatic level, total station and global positioning system (gps)
- Processing of filed survey data
- Creating maps, plans and drawings
- Preparation of field survey reports
- Maintenance of survey instruments.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - land surveying and photogrammetry, geomatics, geomatic engineering, technology in geomatics, technology in geo-informatics, geo-spatial engineering, philosophy in technology (survey) or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution
- Affiliate/associate membership of the institution of surveyors of kenya (isk) (land surveyors or engineering surveyors chapter)
- Valid practicing certificate from lands surveyor’s board (lsb) of kenya
- A certificate in computer application skills
- Meets the requirements of chapter six of the constitution of kenya, 2010
