About this role
Key Responsibilities: Receive and consent participants referred to the Eremet onsite laboratory for specimen collection Perform phlebotomy and prepare samples for investigation purposes Collect oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal swabs as required Accurately label and analyze samples (blood, NP/OPs, tissue etc.) Proper documentation of applicable study data during all study procedures Perform routine maintenance of lab equipment Monitor the status of laboratory supplies and make necessary orders Complete QA/QC assignments on laboratory data, samples and records Keep lab work areas clean and organized Assist with laboratory administrative duties. Any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor Vacancy Requirements: Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology, Mandatory Fluency in English Turkana and Swahili both written and spoken. Mandatory Be registered and with a valid practicing license from the KMLLTB Mandatory Certificate in “Good Clinical Practice” and/or “Human Subjects Protection” Mandatory Computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite.
