Key Responsibilities Assist in the Develop of the national oil spill response contingency plan for coastal and inland waterways Assist in the Review and update of the national oil spill response contingency plan for coastal and inland waters Assist in the Implementation of the national oil spill response contingency plan for coastal and inland waters Assist in the Implement strategies for monitoring and preventing oil spills in the coastal and inland waters Co-operate with relevant stakeholders in the protection of marine environment from shipping activities Assist in the Conduct of pollution prevention inspections of Kenyan ports and navigable waterways Assist in conducting public awareness campaigns on prevention of ship source pollution. Assist in the Implementation of International Conventions and other instruments relating to marine pollution response and coordination Qualifications & Skills ACADEMIC Certificate of Competency – Marine Engineer Officer (STCW) Certificate of Competency – Deck Officer (STCW) Bachelor’s Degree Mechanical Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Marine Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Marine Environment Bachelor’s Degree Nautical Science Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies
