Operate, calibrate, and maintain weather monitoring instruments and automated observation systems.
Prepare and disseminate routine and special weather reports in accordance with Navy and Amentum standards.
Assist in forecasting support by compiling observational data and identifying weather patterns.
Monitor severe weather conditions and provide timely alerts to operational personnel.
Maintain accurate logs, digital records, and equipment maintenance documentation.
Collaborate with engineering, aviation, and operational teams to ensure weather data accuracy and mission readiness.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.
Required Qualifications
At least two (2) years of experience in meteorology, atmospheric science, or weather observation.
Must have two (2) years of experience working with the AN and FPS-081 SWR, ASOS, 3140 Manual, METOC ops, and UMQ-5.
Must be trained and certified per NAVMETOCCOMINST3140.1 US Navy METOC Support System for supporting the Weather Radar System (AN and FPS-081 SWR).
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in meteorology preferred.
Must possess a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
Passport must be valid for at least one year beyond hire date.
Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
Ability to meet and maintain contract medical requirements for the duration of deployment.
Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
Familiarity with meteorological instruments, automated weather systems, and data analysis tools.
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work independently.
