• We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Motor Vehicle Painter to join our vehicle assembly team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing vehicle surfaces, applying paint and protective coatings, and ensuring high-quality finishes that meet company and industry standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle bodies and components for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming surfaces.
• Mix paints, hardeners, and thinners according to manufacturer specifications.
• Apply primer, base coat, clear coat, and other protective finishes using spray-painting equipment.
• Inspect painted surfaces for defects such as runs, blemishes, or color inconsistencies and carry out corrective work where necessary.
• Match paint colors to approved vehicle specifications and quality standards.
• Operate and maintain spray booths, spray guns, compressors, and other painting equipment.
• Ensure proper drying and curing of painted components.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe paint shop in accordance with company health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Handle paints, and other hazardous materials safely and in compliance with regulations.
• Work closely with assembly, body building and quality control teams to meet production schedules.
• Perform routine maintenance on painting equipment and report any faults.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Certificate, Diploma, in Motor Vehicle Spray Painting, Automotive Refinishing, or a related field.
• Proven experience in automotive painting within a vehicle assembly or repair environment.
• Knowledge of automotive paint systems, color matching, and spray-painting techniques.
• Ability to operate spray-painting equipment and related tools safely and effectively.
• Good attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality finishes.
• Understanding of workplace health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
