Optometrist to provide comprehensive primary eye care services including eye examinations, refraction, diagnosis of common eye conditions, and prescription of corrective lenses.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform comprehensive eye exams and refraction.
- Diagnose refractive errors and common eye conditions. .
- Prescribe and dispense spectacles, contact lenses, and low vision aids. .
- Detect eye diseases and refer complex cases to ophthalmologists. .
- Counsel patients on eye health and proper eyewear use.
- Maintain patient records and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Participate in community outreach programs.
- Adhere to the regulations, guidelines, and standards set by the Kenya Optometric Association & the Kenya Medical Practitioners & Dentists Council
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION
- Diploma or Degree in Optometry from a recognized institution.
- Valid practicing license from Optometrists Association of Kenya.
- 1-2 years relevant experience (preferred).
- Strong clinical, communication, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
