Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform grossing, microscopy examination, and reporting of surgical specimens and biopsies.
- Undertake cytopathology including FNAC procedures and reporting.
- Interpret Immunohistochemistry and support molecular testing where available.
- Ensure quality assurance.
- SOP compliance and participation in EQA schemes.
- Contribute to laboratory accreditation, audits and continuous improvement.
- Participate in MDT tumour board and clinical-pathological meetings.
- Perform autopsies both clinical and forensic, with court attendance when summoned.
- Participate in appointed hospital committees.
- Teach and mentor trainees.
- Undertaking health research; and analyzing medical reports.
- Performing any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements for Appointment
A candidate must have:
- Be a Kenyan Citizen (Attach ID).
- KCPE and KCSE Certificate (Attach evidence).
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree from an institution recognized by Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board.
- Masters’ degree in Pathology.
- Certificate of Registration by the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board.
- Valid practicing license from Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board.
- At least one (1) year experience (Attach evidence).
