Job Requirements For appointment to this grade, a candidate must; Have a Bachelor of laws (LL. B) degree from a recognized university; Have Post admission experience of 5 years and above; Be an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya; Be a member of the Law Society of Kenya and in good standing. Job Description Receiving and processing cases filed against the County Executive; Carrying out inquiries on the received cases; Compiling and analysing the cases for decision making; Implementing strategies and guidelines on handling of the cases, updating and maintaining a case database; Liaising with the relevant County Departments on cases filed against the County Executive; Preparing bi-annual and other reports on cases filed against the County Executive; Ensuring compliance with the policy, legal requirements and provisions in all the undertakings of the County Executive so as to safeguard the interest of the County on all legal matters; Representing the County Executive in litigation and other legal matters; Preparing legal documents and instruments, legal opinions, legal briefs, leases, contracts and memoranda of understanding for the County Executive; Conducting legal research on pending case files; undertaking research on specific legal matters and emerging trends and coming up with opinion to facilitate the justice process; Identifying issues and areas for policy formulation and review; Recommending alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in addressing legal matters; Supervising junior legal counsel and other subordinate staff in the Office of the County Attorney; Any other duty as may be assigned by the County Attorney from time to time go to method of application »
