Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervising support staff including cleaners, laundry operators, cooks, mortuary attendants, groundsmen, waste handlers and casual workers within the facility;
- Ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation in wards, theatres, clinics, kitchens, laundry and hospital compound
- Managing and supervising hospital laundry, cleaning, waste segregation, collection and disposal in accordance with NEMA and public health regulations;
- Ensuring proper use, custody and accountability of cleaning materials, detergents, linen, kitchen utensils and other support equipment;
- Preparing and submitting monthly reports on support services and staff performance Ensuring compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Act and reporting any hazards or maintenance needs;
- Any other duty as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Job Requirements
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must:
- Be a Kenyan Citizen;
- Have Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Mean Grade C- or its equivalent;
- Certificate in public Administration, Management or its equivalent;
- Satisfy the requirements of chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya.
