Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Certificate or Trade Test qualification in Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 1 year of practical experience in tyre fitment and removal is preferred; recent graduates with strong internship or attachment experience will also be considered.
- Prior experience in a tyre service centre, transport company workshop, or fleet yard will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with tyre inspection terminology and procedures is preferred.
- Ability to read vehicle tyre specifications, including tyre size, load index, and speed rating, will be an added advantage.
- Willingness to perform both hands-on technical work and digital inspection activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out tyre mounting, demounting, fitment and removal for commercial trucks, trailers, light commercial vehicles and other assigned equipment.
- Perform wheel torquing, tyre inflation and pressure checks according to vehicle and tyre specifications.
- Assist with tyre rotation, valve replacement, wheel balancing and proper tyre handling and storage.
- Sort and segregate worn tyres for retread dispatch or scrap disposition.
- Conduct digital tyre inspections using the Budini mobile application.
- Capture accurate tyre data, including tread depth, pressure, damage observations and mileage.
- Record tyre serial, vehicle registration, axle position and job details accurately for every transaction.
- Ensure all inspection and transaction data is completed and submitted on the same working day.
- Report equipment faults, unsafe conditions, tool shortages and application issues to the Yard Supervisor. • Assist with tyre stock counts and physical inventory checks.
