About this role

For appointment as a Member of the Intergovernmental Relations Technical Committee, a person shall: be a citizen of Kenya; holds a degree from a university recognized in Kenya; has a distinguished career in their respective field; has at least ten years’ post qualification professional experience; and satisfies the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution. DISQUALIFICATION CRITERIA Section 11 (6) of the Intergovernmental Relations Act No. 2 of 2012, provides that a person shall not be eligible for appointment as a member of the Technical Committee if the person: is a member of Parliament or County Assembly; is a member of a governing body of a political party; is an elected or nominated member of a county government; is a member of a Commission established under the Constitution; is an undischarged bankrupt; has been removed from office for contravening the Constitution or any other law; or has, in the conduct of his affairs, not met any statutory obligations. TERMS OF SERVICE Salary and benefits for the positions shall be as determined by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC); and Members of the Technical Committee shall hold office for a non-renewable term of six (6) years. APPLICANTS ARE REQUIRED TO NOTE THAT: Names of shortlisted candidates shall be published in the daily newspapers of national circulation and in the websites of IGRTC, Council of Governors (COG) and Executive Office of the President; Members of the public shall be invited to submit sworn affidavits on matters of interest relating to any of the shortlisted candidates; The shortlisted candidates shall present originals of the following documents during the interview: National Identity Card; Academic and professional certificates and transcripts Any other supporting documents and testimonials; and Valid and current clearances from the following bodies; Kenya Revenue Authority; Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission; Higher Education Loans Board; Any of the registered Credit Reference Bureaus; Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Police Clearance Certificate) Office of the Registrar of Political Parties Sworn affidavits stating that the documents submitted are authentic and that they are not disqualified for appointment as set out in Section 11(6) of the Act Letter of recognition of qualifications from the Commission of University Education (CUE) for any degree obtained from foreign universities; and Recommendations from relevant professional bodies (where applicable)
