Role Objective

  • Our client, a well-established law firm located in Upper Hill, Nairobi, is seeking an ambitious Commercial & Conveyancing Advocate to join its growing practice. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing conveyancing and commercial transactions, advising clients on complex legal matters, and delivering practical legal solutions while maintaining the highest professional standards.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee commercial and conveyancing transactions from instruction through to successful completion.
  • Conduct legal due diligence, title investigations and risk assessments for property and corporate transactions.
  • Draft, review and negotiate sale agreements, leases, transfers, charges, securities, commercial contracts and other legal documentation.
  • Coordinate the execution, stamping and registration of legal instruments with the relevant government agencies and regulatory bodies.
  • Advise clients on commercial, corporate, property and real estate matters while offering practical and business-oriented legal solutions.
  • Work closely with financial institutions, government offices, surveyors, valuers, estate agents and other stakeholders to facilitate seamless transactions.
  • Support corporate transactions by reviewing contractual obligations, identifying legal risks and recommending appropriate safeguards.
  • Maintain accurate transaction records and ensure matters are progressed within agreed timelines.
  • Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory requirements affecting commercial and conveyancing practice.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities to enhance client satisfaction and support business growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to deliver high-quality legal services.
  • Undertake any other responsibilities assigned in support of the firm\'s operations

Job Specifications and Qualifications

  • At least two (2) years Post admission experience in a busy law firm.
  • An upper 2nd Bachelors of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized university.
  • A valid practicing certificate.
