Person Specifications (Education, Experience & Competencies) 

  • Bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Business Administration, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) or a relevant professional body;
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing policies, strategies, legislation, guidelines, frameworks, norms, regulations, plans, standards and programs on accounts;
  • Monitoring revenue collection and expenditures based on approved budgets;
  • Applying sound principles, systems and techniques in accounting for finances, assets, revenue, expenditure and costs;
  • Accounting for special funds, programs and projects' funds;
  • Preparing and verifying financial reports;
  • Processing payments;
  • Verifying bank reconciliation statements;
  • Authorizing payments and claims within set limits as approved;
  • Verifying and receipting all monies due and payable to the Agency;
  • Analyzing and reporting on revenue collected to management;
  • Ensuring safe custody of accountable documents; and
  • Preparing financial management reports.
