Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -

1. Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences or equivalent from a recognized institution;
2. A valid registration certificate from Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologist Board;
3. At least six (6) years post qualification working experience;
4. Computer Literacy.

Job Description

An officer at this level shall:

1. Supervise Medical Laboratory Technicians;
2. Ensure quality techniques and efficiency of reporting, recording and postage of laboratory results;
3. Perform general laboratory procedures for pathological investigations;
4. Guide and assist Medical Laboratory Technologists and Technicians;
5. Examine specimens;
6. Dispatch results for clinical management; and
7. Perform any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
