Requirements for appointment

For appointment to this position, one MUST:

1. Have Higher Diploma in Ultrasography and Diploma in Radiography and Imaging;
2. Be registered and hold a valid annual practicing license from the RPB; and
3. Have Professional membership by Society of Radiography in Kenya.

Job Description

An officer at this level shall:

1. Perform ultrasound scans for obstetrics (pregnancy), gynecology, abdominal, pelvic, and small parts (thyroid, testes);
2. Conducting vascular, heart and musculoskeletal imaging;
3. Drafting preliminary diagnostic reports and communicating urgent "red flag" findings to the referring physician or radiologist;
4. Prepare patients for various procedures and maintaining patient privacy;
5. Follow general safety and infection control protocols; and
6. Perform routine maintenance of the ultrasound machine and various probes.
